The novel picks up from the ending of Nezha 2. After Lady Yin sacrifices herself to save Nezha, Nezha 3 centers on “bringing his mother back to life.” Nezha seeks help from Tongtian Jiaozhu, leader of the Jie Sect, but Tongtian Jiaozhu tells him to gather three magical treasures. In truth, he wants to release the hundred demons imprisoned beneath a seal, forcing Nezha to make a painful choice between “family and all living beings.”
New villains appear: Jie Sect powerhouses such as the God of Wealth Zhao Gongming and the Three Lady Immortals may become the new antagonists, while Tongtian Jiaozhu pulls the strings from behind the scenes, using Nezha to unleash a crisis that could destroy the world with the hundred demons. Yuanshi Tianzun may also make a move, foreshadowing the Investiture of the Gods War.
