Synopsis

Originally titled Ten-Leaf Anecdotes, this book recounts customs and notable events of the Qing dynasty, covering a wide range of subjects. The author devotes considerable attention to exposing the Qing court's many dark secrets. His scathing satire of Empress Dowager Cixi's autocratic rule and extravagance, as well as the arrogance and greed of the eunuch Li Lianying, comes vividly to life on the page.

Looking for Books Toxic Enough to Destroy Me. The More Toxic, the Better. I’m Ready for a Trial

I’ve already read My Life Is Yours, White Snake, Magic... Gu Yong and the Ice Butterfly, Tales of Misty Rain Tower, The Red Castle (the Japanese one, I forgot the name), and Ten Years Old... (born so handsome he made a nurse faint, then rescued by someone called Rou, or something). I refuse to believe there’s anything left that can poison me.
