[Only Ever Loved Each Other · Younger Man · Redemption · Transmigrate into a Book · Reborn · 1v1 · Happy Ending] (Apologies for the liberties taken with the original setting.)
An emotionally clueless, laid-back eldest daughter of the prime minister’s household x a gloomy, beautiful, tragic male lead in the early chapters who later becomes a devoted puppy
Lin Suishu is a miserable office worker. After dying from overwork, she opens her eyes to find she has transmigrated into a novel she once read.
And the character she has become, who shares her name, is the one who abuses the male lead early in the original story.
Why only early on? Because that character doesn’t even survive long enough to reach the later chapters.
The good news: she has the plot in her head, more or less.
The bad news: she’s been cast as a vicious supporting character.
Lin Suishu consoles herself: being a villainess is no big deal. She can win the protagonist over with love!
Isn’t this exactly the setup for a redemption story?
What Lin Suishu doesn’t know is that the male lead has been reborn.
Jing Xingyun died young, then opened his eyes to find himself back at age ten.
That was the year he had just been brought to the prime minister’s residence.
Jing Xingyun stays on guard against Lin Suishu, but soon realizes she’s a completely different person from the one he knew in his previous life.
Lin Suishu: “Come on, little Xingyun. Stick with me, and I’ll protect you.”
Jing Xingyun: “...What new way of tormenting me is this?”
Later, Lin Suishu improves her reputation and manages to stay alive. All she wants is to lie flat.
But Jing Xingyun keeps pressing closer: “My lady has shown me such kindness. I should repay you with my very self.”
