The Story of a Winter Melon and an Old Fox

Back in high school, Xia Zhi and Bai Yu sat together, and they couldn't go a day without bickering. By college, it seemed like they were growing closer and closer.

“Winter Melon, want to go to college together?” Bai Yu asked with a laugh, tugging her hood from behind.

“No, I want to meet new people,” Xia Zhi replied with a haughty look.

Later...

“Old Fox, I'm so upset,” Xia Zhi said, eyes reddening as she went to him for comfort.

“What happened?” Bai Yu asked, stepping back half a pace in alarm.

Later still...

Drunk, Xia Zhi slumped over his back and said, “Old Fox, why didn't you confess to me sooner?”

Bai Yu's eyes held endless tenderness as he answered indulgently, “Yeah, it was my fault.”
