Crimson Countdown: The Twin Stars of the Metropolitan Police

(Jinpei Matsuda pairing + original female protagonist + both leads are romantically inexperienced)

I'm new to this, so the characters and plot may be out of character. The story leans toward the case-solving side, but I'll do my best (ૢ˃ꌂ˂⁎)

Tokio Kiyokawa of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's Forensic Science Division is known for her short silver-gray hair and gold-rimmed glasses. Her fingertips trace the evidence as she vows to find the real culprit who took her sister from her years ago, digging through the ashes and gunpowder. Jinpei Matsuda of the First Investigative Division is consumed by the death of his close friend Hagiwara Kenji. Alternating between cigarettes and bomb-disposal pliers, he stakes everything on his instincts at the edge of life and death.

An arson and explosion at an abandoned factory brings the “evidence above all” woman into her first clash with the man who trusts his instincts above all else. They go from trading barbs to working in perfect sync, with lemon soda becoming their secret code during late-night overtime. Clues from old cases and a string of bombings intertwine with the truth behind Hagiwara's death and the hidden circumstances surrounding her sister's past, drawing them into a vortex of revenge targeting the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department.

When a bomb threat arrives for a Tokyo amusement park, the 72-hour countdown begins. They must dismantle more than just a bomb: they must also untangle the crimson bond entwining their fates, and find redemption for past regrets as they move forward side by side.
