Erosion of the Eternal Night Abyss

At the beginning of heaven and earth, the spiritual and demon realms were divided. In the spiritual realm, cultivators practiced magic through the five elemental forces: metal, ice, flame, wood, and rock. Demons cultivated miasma and used it to hone their powers. The spiritual realm was divided into five regions according to these elements: metal, ice, flame, wood, and rock. In that age, the spiritual energy of heaven and earth was at its peak, and the cultivation of the Five Emperors had all reached the Return to Void stage. Later, plants and animals that had gained spiritual awareness also began gathering the spiritual energy of heaven and earth to form cores and cultivate. They were known as yaoguai. Since they relied on borrowed spiritual energy to form their cores, they could resemble spiritual cultivators after attaining their forms, but they could never unite with spiritual essence and ultimately had to depend on other realms to survive.
