Exiled from the Start? Then Don't Blame Me for Sweeping the Gods Away

The burning pain in his right eye had yet to fade when the carriage carrying him into exile set off for the Land Forsaken by God.

There is no holy light here to offer mercy, only mutated creatures breeding in rotting flesh and the whispers of evil gods glimmering beneath an eternal night sky.

As the son of an Imperial count, Lin Luo should have inherited his title at eighteen.

That is, until his stepmother lifted the velvet cloth covering his father's statue, and blood tears bore witness to his "patricide"; until he saw tentacles beneath the judges' black robes, and writhing compound eyes beneath the jurors' crow masks; until he found four stone coffins in the crypt beneath the Saintess altar, sealing powers that should have protected the world...

It turned out that beneath the holy light said to be bestowed by the Father God, the four Saintess Churches had long since become carrion devouring all living things.

"Exiled to the Land Forsaken by God?" Lin Luo wiped the blood seeping from his right eye. This forbidden zone, declared by the Church to be the "Land Forsaken by God," was the only pure land left untainted by lies.

The Saintess emblem he unearthed from among the bones of a Corrupted Wolf let him hear Kleiya's anguished cries from a thousand years ago. In the ruins of a church, where mutated vines grew unchecked, erased history seeped with pus and blood...

"They fed my power to the evil gods."

Kleiya's fading image burned in Lin Luo's dream:

"Now you are the new blasphemer, and the last guardian of the tomb."

When the tendrils of the Shadow Church coiled around the palace spires, and the Knowledge Church's crystal ball began reflecting a blood-red starry sky, Lin Luo smiled in the Empire's highest court:

"You say I have defiled the faith?"

Four shattered visions of Saintesses appeared behind him, and a formation beneath his feet lit up with a ghostly glow that devoured all things:

"I'm not the one who's wrong. The whole world is!"
