A mysterious tale has long been passed down in Guisheshe Village. In the village stands a little bamboo house that never falls into disrepair, home to a mysterious old woman known as Granny Chopsticks. She has extraordinary powers and can use a blue-and-white porcelain bowl and silver chopsticks to drive away evil spirits and protect the village. Years ago, a plague swept through the village. Of the little bamboo house’s four occupants, only the older sister, Zhao Xiuer, survived. The illness left her face covered in pockmarks, earning her the name “Pockmarked Girl.” After she died, strange things began happening in the little bamboo house. They only stopped when Granny Chopsticks appeared. Even now, Granny Chopsticks still lives in the little bamboo house, using her powers to protect the village. At her invitation, I travel to Guisheshe to help uncover the secrets hidden in Old Dragon Mountain.
