This book includes the short-lived Northern Zhou Dynasty, the establishment of the Sui Dynasty by Yang Jian, the virtuous queen Dugu Jialuo, the capable minister Yang Su of the Sui Dynasty, and the prosperity of Buddhist scriptures in the Sui Dynasty. The Sui Dynasty became the political model and cultural center of East Asia. Buddhism and Taoism flourished, and classical poetry and law also flourished. Neighboring countries such as Gaochang, Wa, Goguryeo, Silla, Baekje and East Turkestan were deeply influenced by the culture and system of the Sui Dynasty, and were named after Japan's dispatch of envoys to the Sui Dynasty.
