A Mountain Village Boy's Coming of Age

Yang Lin, a boy raised on the waters of Sanjiang, spent his childhood steeped in years scented with fermented grain. The waters of his hometown flowed gently, and the fragrance of the local distillery drifted through its streets.

As an adult, he left home to make his way in an unfamiliar city. The storms of working life and the warmth and coldness of human relationships all became part of his story. Yet whenever he caught a trace of a familiar wine fragrance, a deep longing for Sanjiang would well up inside him. So he took up his pen and wrote down his homesickness. Between the lines lay a bygone era he could never return to.
