Wang Yi, a leading academician in modern society with expertise spanning science and technology, literature, astronomy, and history, accidentally transmigrates into the body of Wang Mang, the emperor on the verge of ascending the throne, while working on an artifact restoration project. With his vast knowledge, he leads the Xin Dynasty onto the fast track of development, until it stands at the pinnacle of the world. He engages in political and military struggles with his destined rival, Liu Xiu, and suppresses the Chimei and Lulin armies. Through his charisma, he wins over twelve of the twenty-eight generals of the Yuntai.
