After My Terminal Cancer Diagnosis, I Cut Ties with My Son

I was diagnosed with late-stage cancer in my sixties, and I didn’t want to put myself through treatment.

I planned to hand over my house and savings when my son came home for New Year’s Eve.

But after waiting and waiting, all I got was a phone call from him:

“Mom, we’re stuck in traffic on the expressway. Go ahead and eat. Don’t wait for us.”

I fell silent.

Just half a minute earlier, Liu Fang, my ex-husband’s second wife, had posted a family photo of their New Year’s Eve dinner on her social media.
