Si Yaoyao, the Chancellor’s legitimate daughter, fell in love at first sight with Regent Tantai Ming during her coming-of-age ceremony. She went to great lengths to catch his attention: bumping into him outside the city, sharing a carriage with him, and bringing snacks to her third brother. Xu Zhirou, the Grand Tutor’s daughter, also loved Tantai Ming. She had even remained unmarried at twenty for his sake. The two women went so far as to make a public wager over who could win his affection. Si Yaoyao launched an ardent pursuit of him... But Tantai Ming was aloof and abstinent, and kept his distance from women. Could Si Yaoyao win his heart?

Upon his return, Tantai Ming only instructed An Yi to tell the outside world that he was in seclusion and would receive no visitors. By chance, Si Yaoyao overheard her second brother speaking with An Yi and learned the truth. She threw herself into medical texts, forgetting to eat or sleep, determined to save the life of the man she loved.
Si Yaoyao journeyed into the Shenyin Mountains in search of an antidote ingredient, a Hidden Mist Ice Lotus seed. After enduring countless hardships, she finally obtained one, but an unexpected mishap occurred, and she ended up making a deal with a mysterious stranger...
