The story takes place in a small mountain village in southwest China called Taoyuan Village. Surrounded by mountains and rivers, its residents live a traditional, simple life. As the tide of the new era reaches the village, change begins to come quietly. The younger generation longs to leave the mountains and see the world, while the older generation remains devoted to the land and its traditions. The protagonist, Hanhana, grows up in this setting. Her life is full of laughter and tears, and she witnesses the changes sweeping through the countryside.
