Tang Sanzang and his disciples set out to start a business and hunt for all kinds of opportunities. The plot is lively, the content hilarious, and the humor delightfully absurd. After the pilgrimage team is appointed at Spirit Mountain, they unexpectedly transmigrate to modern Chang’an in a parallel world, where they discover that Buddhist scriptures have lost their power. Guanyin offers guidance: “The true scriptures must keep pace with the times. The way of commerce is the new path of cultivation.”
