Knock, knock, knock, knock. A series of knocks comes from the living room at midnight.
They say people knock three times, while ghosts knock four.
Yang Haoxiu walks into the living room and yanks open the door.
The atmosphere freezes. Outside, an old man in plain clothes, his body wreathed in black mist, has one hand suspended in midair as if knocking. Inside, Yang Haoxiu holds up a yellow talisman, the corners of his mouth rising despite himself.
The old man turns to leave, but Yang Haoxiu grabs his clothes.
"Since you're here, you're my guest. Have a cup of tea before you go, or people will say Mount Mao doesn't know how to welcome visitors."
This is a world teeming with ghosts. Countless wandering spirits hide beneath the neon lights of the city, and those who died unjustly still roam among the living.
Perhaps they're in a corner you and I overlook, perhaps beneath the bed, or perhaps right behind us...
