Final Prelude: Ascension

When the black sun hangs overhead, civilization crumbles into ruins.

Three years ago, the sun suddenly blazed with a deathly black light. Nine calamities bearing the sins of humanity tore through reality, and unknown monsters invaded the cities. It was the eve of civilization's collapse.

Order crumbled beneath a blood-red dusk. The death knell of the apocalypse had sounded, and the cries of millions of living beings became the overture to doomsday.

As the saviors awaken bearing sacred stigmata, frenzied believers climb the Steps of the End to claim the divine throne.

At the very end, Gu Shang plays a requiem for the old world, now barely clinging to life:

"There were no gods in this world to begin with. Those who survive become gods!"

"With every step I climb, I move farther from humanity."

"That pitch-black halo hanging in the sky was always a crown meant to be placed upon the heads of the mad!"
