The Count from the East

[Transmigration + no System + fictional Western setting + lord + multiple heroines + political intrigue] After transmigrating to another world, he finds himself an undocumented outsider? Modern young man Duke accidentally falls into an ancient Western continent woven with swords and roses, only to discover that being a commoner in a slave-owning society is practically a death sentence.

At the brink of life and death, he straightens his collar and declares himself the “Earl of Great Tang.” He improves farming with advanced technology and builds his own commercial empire through brilliant planning. As the barbarian hordes thunder south, kicking up clouds of dust, Duke grips the quenched steel blade in his hand: the first weapon he has forged with modern ironmaking techniques, one that surpasses its age.

As the church's holy emblem and the royal scepter cast intersecting shadows behind him, the cool and elegant daughter of an earl, married to him for political alliance, tosses a secret letter into the brazier. A learned female scholar calculates the rise and fall of empires over the millennia on a parchment scroll. Caught between royal and divine authority, and with the wealth he has amassed making them all covetous, what lies ahead for Duke?
