During the spiritual qi revival, strange "Chi Mei rifts" suddenly appear in modern cities. Monsters, ghosts, and spirits from the Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio world descend into reality through ancient temples, cultural relics, and other conduits. Thanks to his ancestral jade pendant, Lu Li awakens the "Netherworld Eye," which lets him see through the true forms of monsters and ghosts and absorb their demonic power to strengthen himself. In the end, he unites the mortal and demon realms.
