For years, I’ve kept an idea tucked away in the back of my mind: I wanted to sit down and write something. But I never had much faith in my storytelling ability, so I kept putting it off and never got around to it. Back in middle school, wuxia stories were all the rage, and I rode that wave, writing a few chapters just for fun. Those chapters even got passed around among a small group of classmates, and they were eager for updates.
But life is full of surprises. Somehow, those pages ended up in my homeroom teacher’s hands. You can probably guess how it ended. The experience hit me hard, and after that I gave up on writing altogether. To be honest, though, it always stayed with me, like a small stone that would occasionally dig into my heart.
Lately, it feels like nothing has been going right. I’ve been hit hard in love, and illness has taken its toll on my body. My life seems to have plunged into endless chaos, and things couldn’t feel much worse. I figure that since I’m already at rock bottom and can’t see even a glimmer of light ahead, I might as well start writing again and let my thoughts flow freely. It doesn’t seem like things could get any worse anyway.
These pieces may be called essays, but they’re really a patchwork of stories I’ve heard over the years, mixed with a few flights of personal imagination. As for whether they’re any good, I hope you’ll treat them as a bit of entertainment and enjoy them for what they are. If they happen to resemble real people or events, that’s purely coincidental, so please don’t read too much into it.
I haven’t planned out an outline for these stories in advance. I’m writing entirely on a whim, going wherever my thoughts take me, so there may well be inconsistencies or things that don’t make sense. I humbly ask all you esteemed readers to please
Very nice! The story inside is very interesting. Whether it is true or not, the author is very imaginative!
