A Confession Through Time: Our Ice Cream Date

A Confession to Time: The Ice Cream Promise

Amid the bustle of a thriving city, the story of Lin Xiao and Su Ran quietly begins.

Eight years ago, the two of them were young and innocent when they made a promise at an ice cream shop on a street corner. It was a pledge wrapped in the sweetness of summer, but a sudden family crisis forced Su Ran to leave without a word, leaving Lin Xiao to wander painfully through memories. In the years that followed, Lin Xiao’s love of painting helped her make a name for herself in the art world, but the place in her heart reserved for Su Ran remained empty.

Eight years later, the wheels of fate turn once more. Su Ran returns to the city for work, and the two unexpectedly meet again at an art exhibition. Su Ran has shed the innocence of youth, her eyes now carrying a hint of maturity and resolve. The moment Lin Xiao sees her, memories rush back like a tide, and feelings buried deep inside come surging to life.

Faced with having Su Ran back after losing her, Lin Xiao is overwhelmed by conflicting emotions: the joy of their reunion and the hurt of being abandoned. Su Ran, meanwhile, is full of guilt and longing, but does not know how to explain why she left all those years ago. Amid their conflict and inner turmoil, the two find themselves drawn to each other once again.

By chance, they return to the ice cream shop on the street corner. The familiar setting and taste bring them back to those innocent days. Summoning her courage, Su Ran tells Lin Xiao why she had no choice but to leave: a financial crisis forced her entire family to move, leaving no chance to even say a proper goodbye. As Lin Xiao listens, tears well in her eyes, and her resentment gradually fades.
