The anime is the main reference, with the Pokédex as a supplementary source, combined with the author's own stylistic touches.
Gym battles and regional league competitions drive the main story, while humorous daily life and special events serve as side stories.
“Tsundere? Don't underestimate the power of a Pokemon temptress!”
“Champion? I'll claim the title with ease, Luo Yun. I'll leave it to you to guess which one, hehe.”
“You say the other side is made up entirely of legendary Pokemon and I should run for my life? You're thinking too small. I only need one Pokemon to make them all surrender.”
“Serperior isn't the final evolution? This will shatter everything you thought you knew!”
In the Unova Region, after years of study at the Pokemon Trainer Academy, young Luo Yun can finally embark on his journey as a Trainer.
With Snivy as his first Pokemon, can he use his personality, abilities, and character to catch powerful partners and claim the Unova Championship against all the region's elite?
How will Luo Yun respond to the companions and amusing events he encounters on his journey, the winding process of catching Pokemon, and the many wondrous encounters along the way?
(The synopsis doesn't do it justice. Head to the main story for all the excitement!)
