An urban epic about music, memory, and protection
In 2010, indie musician Jiang Yu left the music scene after a plagiarism scandal. With his dreams in pieces, he returned to his hometown of Gulangyu and inherited Lighthouse, a century-old cafe left behind by his great-uncle. The old house was not only a refuge, but also held a long-forgotten piano and an unresolved story from the past.
The arrival of piano restorer Ye Wan disrupted Jiang Yu's quiet life. She was an heir to his great-uncle's estate, and the only person who could uncover the old piano's secret. The two went from using each other to relying on one another, but while restoring the piano, they unexpectedly discovered an unfinished composition left by his great-uncle: a posthumous work powerful enough to shake the music world.
But plans by a property developer to forcibly demolish the house, shady dealings in music copyrights, and family inheritance disputes soon piled up. Caught between ideals and reality, Jiang Yu and Ye Wan struggled against the tides of their time, using music and memories to fight back. Beneath the lighthouse, the piano sang like a lament. Could they protect this old house, which held their dreams and memories?
