The Princess Who Fell from the High Wall Saw How Her Life Would End

After Princess Yuanzhu’s mother passed away, her father, the prince, had her brought from a remote backwater to the imperial capital so people wouldn’t criticize him.

But her father had already married and had a daughter, and he didn’t care about Yuanzhu at all. She couldn’t understand why the man who used to hold her and say she was the prettiest little girl now had her beaten whenever she did something wrong.

She both hated and feared Huang Ji, the daughter of the Minister of Revenue whom her father had married. At the same time, she envied and resented their daughter, Yuanyue.

She didn’t know why people accused her of being dishonest and ill-behaved, either. Not even a few months after arriving in the capital, she was sent away to live alone in another small residence.

They even made her share the house with a poor scholar she had never met, Pei Yanzhi, claiming he was the boy her parents had betrothed her to as a child. Yuanzhu knew the betrothal must have been arranged for Yuanyue, so she grew to hate Pei Yanzhi even more. She turned a cold eye as the household staff bullied him and occasionally humiliated him herself.

But during the Qiqiao Festival in the capital, Yuanzhu climbed onto a high wall and was pushed off by someone. As she lay in a pool of blood, she saw how her life would end.

Pei Yanzhi, the patient son of a vengeful general, × Yuanzhu, a kindhearted and frail princess of breathtaking beauty.
