Late at night, a clown grins menacingly at a station. A mysterious woman in a trench coat appears, and sacred flames capable of incinerating everything leap from the palm of Su Bei, a beleaguered medical student. The global gene sequence mutates: a delivery worker crushes a security door with his bare hands, while a programmer hacks an artificial intelligence with his brainwaves.
"Su Bei, your fire can burn through the genetic locks." The earth-shaking warning arrives at the same time as the roar of a Fallen Entity erupting nearby. As the city's skyscrapers become overgrown with carpets of fleshy fungus, Su Bei's ashen flames soar to burn the boundary between reality and humanity's survival.
Alarms ring across the sky as he kicks open the nuclear blast door buried deep beneath the Siberian ice fields. The instant the sacred flames engulf the classified "Gene Editing" files, the young man chuckles in the fire: "Everyone, ready to disinfect?"
