What Becomes of Nanliang?

[Two male leads + cross-dressing expert × utterly straight guy + secret crush comes true + comedy + heartwarming] Jiang Yu, a history student from a poor family, has a face so beautiful it’s hard to tell whether he’s male or female. To raise the money needed to save his grandmother’s life, he is forced to dress as a woman and enter the campus beauty pageant as his department’s representative. “Men can’t enter? The rules never said anything about gender!” His newly made best friend, Xiang Yizhong, makes the decision, pushing the cool, aloof young man into the spotlight. Dressed in flowing Hanfu with his face half-hidden behind a veil, the account [Yu the Beauty] takes over the campus forum overnight. But when the truth comes out that [the ancient-style goddess is actually a guy], abuse and adoration surge over him like a tidal wave. Meanwhile, a cosmetics giant offers him an endorsement deal, but the cross-dressing contract requires him to hide his Adam’s apple and masculine voice completely. More troublesome still, Xiang Yizhong, an utterly straight guy, looks at him with increasingly strange eyes. “Jiang Yu, when you’re dressed as a woman… could you please not smile at me?” As workplace exploitation, a fractured sense of gender, and a young man’s secret feelings all descend on him at once, the icy beauty curled up in a shabby dorm finally grips the knife of fate. With this face, he will tear through the world’s prejudice, and through the defenses locked around one particular person’s heart.
