<I Looked Up to You for Eight Years>
[Quick-witted debate club captain × quirky, rebellious troublemaker]
“Hi, I’m Chen Man. Man, as in carefree.”
“Yu Jinchun.”
Everyone knew Yu Jinchun as a model socialist who could do no wrong. Chen Man, meanwhile, sported fashionable, wine-red curls, and even at a young age she already had an alluring air about her.
They seemed destined to clash, but throughout high school they followed the Four Principles of Peaceful Coexistence: never owing each other, never bothering each other, never knowing each other, and never paying each other any mind.
Then, in college, word got around that Chen Man had made it onto the university debate team’s second squad thanks to her tireless arguing with the administrators. She was set to face off against Yu Jinchun, captain of the first squad.
Just as the spectators settled in to enjoy the show, Chen Man quit the debate team halfway through, and the two parted on bad terms.

<Three More Years, and Our Paths Cross Again>
[Rootless travel blogger × gentle, sensitive schoolteacher]
Four years after graduation, a reporter from an entertainment outlet was lucky enough to interview Yu Jinchun at home. Now the hottest wholesome travel blogger around, she was asked what had kept her fighting all these years to build acceptance for LGBT people. By chance, the reporter saw a woman walk out of the master bedroom, still sleepy.
The next day, Yu Jinchun posted something unrelated to travel on Weibo for the first time. The accompanying picture showed two slender, fair hands entwined.
“Years ago, I knew I couldn’t win an argument with you, so I had to prove it through my actions. If you come into my territory, you’re not allowed to run away again.”
"Thank you for being part of my life. I gladly accept your invitation."
