The Heart Sutra of Stocks

[The waves are unpredictable, but the tide’s direction never changes]! The art of stock trading lies in “understanding the heart and grasping the simple essence of the Way.” In truth, good stocks are works of art in the capital markets. Traders are like symphony conductors, taking the health of an industry as their score and weaving the rhythm of candlesticks from the changing volume of capital flows. Intraday charts are ink paintings unfurling across rice paper, while limit-up boards are the boldest empty spaces left amid splashes of ink. Themes leap like notes, playing a dazzling movement of the main upward trend on the strings of expectation gaps. Value investors are like wine-makers in a quiet alley, blending the curvature of ROE with the rich aroma of economic moats, waiting for time to mature the vintage and make free cash flow ever purer. Trend traders resemble Dunhuang muralists, following the flowing ribbons of moving averages to catch the Buddha-light that blooms from the pen at a MACD golden cross. The market’s collective force is the most exquisite act of group creation, as the colors of northbound capital mingle with the charcoal strokes of hot money on the Dragon-Tiger List. When turnover becomes Monet’s water lilies and ripples stir in the pond of trading volume, every price point glimmers with Impressionist light and shadow. Those who truly understand the Way know that candlestick charts are merely projections of Van Gogh’s Starry Night on a screen; what they must truly see through is the spectrum of human greed and fear. Top-tier stocks always grow at the golden ratio of industrial trends, with gaps in net profit tracing Fibonacci curves. A true master can hear Chopin nocturnes in earnings calls and see the strokes of the Da Vinci Code in shareholder registers. That Mona Lisa smile hidden among the top ten holders of tradable shares is the ultimate secret of capital resonance.
