Jiang Fan, a university student, transmigrates to a world of gods and ghosts and discovers that he has become a scholar who just died after saving a child from drowning. The child is the county magistrate's son. To thank him for saving the boy's life, the magistrate grants Jiang Fan an official talisman and appoints him the local Earth God, under the City God's jurisdiction and entitled to receive offerings of incense. As an Earth God, he gains the ability to send dreams and prayers. Jiang Fan discovers that he can use his dream-sending ability across the Myriad Worlds, and soon begins sending dreams throughout them.
