Li Chu was originally Xiao Li Chu, the most eligible heiress in Beicheng, but she managed to kick herself out of her own home.
She was determined to make a name for herself in show business. If she failed, she could always go home and inherit the family fortune worth billions.
Gong Shaoming was known as an untouchable beauty of a man. Rumor had it he was cold-hearted by nature, and that anyone who offended him met a miserable end.
The little-known actress Li Chu must have had a death wish to try to seduce him. Everyone waited to see how she would die.
Instead, they saw the famous Young Master Gong kicked out of his car and thrown out of his house, while Li Chu punched and kicked him.
At a banquet, Li Chu sat in a corner listening to people gossip about her.
“Have you heard? The eldest Young Master Gong is still single because he's waiting for his old flame to return from abroad. You know, the eldest daughter of the Xiao family.”
Li Chu scoffed. “Rumors take a second to spread, but disproving them takes forever. If he were really that devoted, couldn't the eldest Young Master Gong even afford a plane ticket?”
As she finished speaking, a soft laugh sounded beside her, followed by a man's deep, magnetic voice. “How do you know the eldest Young Master Gong hasn't gone to find her?”
Li Chu blushed at the sound of his voice and stammered, “I... just know.”
Gong Shaoming had never bowed his head to anyone in his life. Li Chu was the one exception to everything.
