Chapter One: First Meeting
Amid the bustle of the bustling city, Lin Xiao made her way alone through the crowded streets. She had just finished an exhausting day at work, and her heart was full of uncertainty about the future. A light breeze brushed through her hair, bringing a touch of coolness.
As usual, Lin Xiao stepped into the coffee shop on the corner. The rich aroma of coffee filled the shop, and soft lighting created a cozy atmosphere. She chose a seat by the window and gazed at the crowds passing outside.
“A latte, please,” Lin Xiao said softly to the server.
While she waited for her coffee, someone hurried into the shop. He was a tall, handsome man. A hint of worry showed in his eyes, but it did nothing to diminish his good looks.
The man sat at the table beside Lin Xiao and ordered a coffee as well. By chance, their eyes met. For that one moment, it was as if time stood still.
Lin Xiao's heart began to race for no reason. She had never felt anything like it. The man smiled slightly, breaking the brief awkward silence.
“This coffee shop always helps you find a moment of peace in the middle of a busy day,” the man said, his voice deep and magnetic.
