Shen Jieyin, the arrogant and conceited crown prince of the Central Plains, meets the young Ye Lingjun during a gathering of the various kingdoms.
Suspecting that the Northern Barbarians have lied about the prince's age and deceived the throne, Shen Jieyin keeps finding fault with Ye Lingjun, trying to expose him.
Though still young, Ye Lingjun is subjected to all manner of trouble by Shen Jieyin, yet he develops a keen interest in the crown prince of the Central Plains...
Time flies. The princes of the various kingdoms grow up and face all kinds of fates, both happy and tragic.
After enduring one upheaval after another as he grows, Ye Lingjun becomes ruthless and formidable as an adult.
When he meets Shen Jieyin again, a dark plan takes shape in Ye Lingjun's mind...
