In her previous life, Li Zhenzhen listened to the advice of her fake-sweet best friend and mistakenly believed her adoptive parents had raised her to be a child bride. She also misread her brother's kindness as having ulterior motives and thought all her relatives meant her harm. Taken in by the sweet talk of a pretty boy and the lies of her fake-sweet friend, she muddleheadedly married the pretty boy. After the wedding, Li Zhenzhen worked hard to support the family, only to catch her cheating husband and her fake-sweet friend in the act. The two schemed to push her into a hunting pit on the mountain.
Luckily, Li Zhenzhen was still alive, though her leg was broken. She refused to give up. For two days straight, she clawed her way upward with her hands, climbing up only to fall back down, over and over, until she was utterly exhausted. Leaning against the earthen wall, she thought, This is where I die. Suddenly, she heard, “Zhenzhen! Zhenzhen! Where are you?” It was her adoptive parents, brother, and uncle! She was saved. But the fall had been from too great a height. On the way to the hospital after being rescued, Li Zhenzhen took her last breath. She heard her adoptive mother screaming and sobbing, “You little brat, don't go to sleep! Get up!”
The voice grew fainter, then soon came into focus again. “That brat had better not go near that rotten good-for-nothing from the Hua family again, or I'll break her legs!” Li Zhenzhen was bewildered. What was going on? Wasn't I dead? She glanced at the calendar. 1967! She was back! She sprang to her feet and gave her adoptive mother a huge hug. Just you wait, you cheating jerk and fake-sweet backstabber! I'll show you what I can do!
