Just released, and I’m a beginner, so please don’t mind the low rating!
A modern urban setting intertwined with memories of a thousand-year-old demon realm.
It was already late autumn, yet the peach tree was covered in pink blossoms, swaying gracefully in the rain.
“My name is Taoyao.” The person turned around and smiled faintly. “What about you?”
“Lu Chenzhou.” He gave his name, but kept his eyes fixed on Taoyao’s face. “You... aren’t an ordinary person, are you?”
Taoyao didn’t answer. They simply reached out to catch a falling peach blossom. “I planted this tree. It’s been here for three hundred years.”
Lu Chenzhou’s heart jolted. Only then did he notice that Taoyao’s pupils held a faint pink glow in the moonlight, like peach blossoms in bloom.
“You saved me. What do you want as a reward?” He suppressed his shock and asked in his usual negotiating tone.
Taoyao tilted their head and thought for a moment. “I’ve only just arrived, and I don’t know this place very well. How about... you take me in for a while?”
Lu Chenzhou narrowed his eyes. The request was so simple that it made him even more wary. But thinking of the abilities Taoyao had just displayed, he decided this might be an opportunity.
“All right.” He nodded. “But you have to do as I say.”
Taoyao smiled, eyes curving into crescents. “Deal.”
And even at the very end, their story goes on. They have only promised each other this: “We once vowed to grow old together in this world; as long as the peach blossoms endure, our oath will never end.”
A mix of sweetness and angst, with just a little heartache for fun. Happy ending! Happy ending! Happy ending!
