Siheyuan: Yi Zhonghai, You’re the One I’ll Rely on in My Old Age

Yi Jianjun was reborn in the days when people had to make do with chaff and wild greens! Orphaned, he went to live with his uncle Yi Zhonghai, a Grade Eight fitter who earned nearly a hundred yuan a month and had no children of his own. Yi Zhonghai raised him like a son, and Yi Jianjun was happy to take it easy. Thanks to his uncle’s connections, he landed a cushy job as a purchasing agent at the steel mill, and life was good. Yet the people in the courtyard mocked him as “the childless old man’s ungrateful adopted son.” Before long, the whole courtyard was in an uproar! The Yi household ate meat every day and drank with every meal, living even better than the factory manager! Yi Jianjun had become the envy of the entire courtyard!
