Reborn in the 1970s with a Pocket Dimension

Reborn in 1970, in an era when you might go hungry one day and eat your fill the next, and even buying things required ration coupons.

His grandparents were veteran Red Army soldiers, and his father was an active-duty serviceman. Of the nine children in the family, only one was their own; the other eight were adopted children of fallen comrades. After a spiteful person reported them, family policy dictated that one member of a large household had to go to the countryside.

To make up for the regrets of his past, Jiang Benyu once again chose to head to the countryside as an educated youth.

After Jiang Benyu, a retired soldier who had started out as a black-market trader at the end of the 21st century and become a business tycoon, returns to the 1970s and the day he was forced to go to the countryside, watch as he keeps his head down through that turbulent era, waits for reform and opening up in 1978, then leads a group of followers to build their fortunes and make their mark.

This story is based on the real experiences of elders in my family. Whenever I visit and chat with them, they reminisce about their days as educated youths sent to the countryside. They tell me about their own experiences, about educated youths from all over the country, and about others sent to villages nearby. I added a few fantastical details, and that's how this novel came to be.

Thank you, dear readers.
