Classroom of the Elite: Oreki’s Energy-Saving Life

“If you can avoid doing something, then don’t do it. If you absolutely have to, keep it as simple as possible.”

Houtarou Oreki lived by the principle of “energy conservation” and should have been enjoying a peaceful, lazy high school life. But after his older sister’s friendly “recommendation,” he was forced to enroll at Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing High School.

At this school, where meritocracy reigns supreme, can Houtarou Oreki keep adhering to his principle of “energy conservation”? And what kind of experiences await him there?

When Houtarou Oreki, a firm believer in “energy conservation,” finds himself at a high school that puts “meritocracy above all,” can he survive in this school of competition and intrigue and find his place?
