Declassified U. S. Intelligence Archives on China (1948-1976) (Volume 5)

"Declassified U. S. Intelligence on China Files (1948-1976)" is a report on Chinese intelligence collected by U. S. Intelligence agencies, mainly the Central Intelligence Agency, as well as the analysis and evaluation of this intelligence. The CIA is the most important and core intelligence agency of the United States, so these intelligence files were originally the top national secrets of the United States. It was not until 2004 that these intelligence files began to be declassified one after another. As China's first translation of US intelligence on China, this set of books has three major features: first, it comes from a wide range of archive sources, including paper texts, databases and microform documents; second, it uses the top-secret and confidential "Special National Intelligence Assessment" and "National Intelligence Assessment" as the skeleton to comprehensively and systematically display the Cold War era. This issue includes the U. S. Intelligence agencies' cognition, analysis, judgment and prediction of China's political, economic, military and diplomatic conditions; third, the "Introduction" to each volume written by well-known domestic scholars not only outlines the types, sources and contents of the documents included in this volume, but also provides an objective and fair evaluation of the accuracy of the document judgments and their reasons. The original documents and materials for this set of books began with the planned collection by Chinese scholars in 2010, and their translation, compilation and research.
