Borrowing Against the Future: How Can I Build a Shelter Without Money?

In the year 7702, dark clouds blot out the sun, and golden blood rains from the sky, staining the land, mountains, rivers, and seas. The apocalypse arrives, forcing all of humanity to fight for survival. Huang Tao gains the ability to draw on the future, allowing him to access skills and resources he will acquire later. Cutting down trees takes too long? Draw on a future logging skill and drastically reduce the time it takes. Water is scarce? Draw on future production, giving him more than enough for himself and plenty to sell, greatly speeding up his progress. While others struggle to gather resources to upgrade their shelters and beg for scraps of drinking water, Huang Tao is already using resources drawn from the future to sell in bulk on the trading market. One day, someone asks Huang Tao how he has so many resources. Huang Tao replies, “Because I know how to work up a sweat. Everything I have today is the result of my hard work... That’s how I earned the money I deserved, and built the world’s number-one shelter.”
