Awakening Her Spiritual Root: Liu Ruyan comes from an ordinary village. By chance, she reveals the traits of a divine phoenix constitution, drawing in the spiritual energy of heaven and earth. Her guards, Ji Boda and Ye Chen, recognize her unusual nature and decide to protect her as she embarks on the path of cultivation. The three set off for the Lingxiao Immortal Sect, but are attacked by wild wolves along the way. Ye Chen drives off the pack with his superb swordsmanship.
Joining the Immortal Sect: Upon reaching the Lingxiao Immortal Sect, Liu Ruyan easily passes the entrance test thanks to her divine phoenix constitution. Ji Boda and Ye Chen are also admitted as exceptions because of their strength. At the sect, Liu Ruyan's constitution makes her the target of jealousy. Her senior sister, Wang Yao, deliberately makes things difficult for her by assigning her to tend the spiritual fields.
