Doctoral student Li Lingxiao stumbled upon a mysterious ancient book in the basement of a library. After being struck by purple lightning, he unexpectedly transmigrated to an unfamiliar world. He awoke in a desolate place, where he had to face a bizarre environment and savage beasts, as well as being hunted by men in black robes.
During his escape, Li Lingxiao rescued Ling'er, a little girl whose parents had both died. The two depended on each other for survival. They searched everywhere for supplies, facing danger at every turn and narrowly escaping disaster time and again.
By chance, they discovered an ancient, mysterious cave. Its walls were covered in strange symbols. Drawing on his memories of the ancient book, Li Lingxiao managed to decipher some of them and obtained a mark of witchcraft. After gaining the mark, he worked hard to learn how to wield witchcraft. Though he faced many setbacks, he gradually mastered a few techniques.
When they were attacked by small beasts, Li Lingxiao got to test his new skills, successfully driving them away with witchcraft and protecting Ling'er. As they explored deeper into the cave, more mysteries awaited them, while unknown dangers were quietly drawing near. Can Li Lingxiao master witchcraft well enough to protect Ling'er in this perilous world? And can they find a way back to their original world? An exhilarating adventure in another world is about to begin...
