[Timid Yet Tough Heroine] [Adorable Yet Annoying System] [Supernatural Revival] [Chinese-Style Horror] [Original Instances] [Light Mystery] [Self-Shipped Couple]
Supernatural horrors have returned across the globe, and resentment runs rampant!
Eighteen-year-old coward Xing Zhu was lying flat and recuperating at a sanatorium. Afraid of the dark, ghosts, and just about everything, she was struck by disaster shortly after finishing her college entrance exams and brutally kidnapped. Not only was her body covered in wounds, but the psychological trauma was enormous. She never expected to be so “lucky” as to be the first dragged into a vengeful spirit realm where survival was almost impossible.
Fortunately, a survival-at-all-costs System appeared from the heavens, helping her awaken the SSS-ranked talent “Light of the Righteous Path.” All supernatural creatures within its range of illumination were forced into a state of “time freeze,” unable to attack or move.
Xing Zhu: “Your big sister is a ray of light. Even resentment gets scared. Whoever dares to frighten me, I’ll keep them under control until the end of time!”
System: “Look, maybe we should run away first? Staring each other down like this, are we playing Red Light, Green Light?”
Xing Zhu: “What do you know? If you can hang in there long enough, the supernatural creatures will wear themselves out. If you run fast enough, they’ll all be done for!”
System: “Well, would you look at that. You’ve really figured out turn-based combat.”
With her talent protecting her, Xing Zhu began roaming the vengeful spirit realm as an outsider, making it her mission to blind anything that couldn’t scare her to death. Crying as she went, she played it safe, using noise and light sources to inflict indiscriminate damage on everyone.
Even more absurdly, just to stay alive, she was forced to sign contracts with a filthy Cockroach King, a fluffy Green Spider Empress, a sinister paper effigy, and a blood-soaked half-corpse fiend.
Looking at the crowd of supernatural creatures before her, all indescribable even after being censored with mosaic, Xing Zhu was speechless, Xing Zhu broke down, and Xing Zhu let out a shrill, hamster-like scream: “Damn it! I really can’t thank you enough. I can’t go on living like this. Just destroy the world already!”
