Using “becoming a god through dreams” as its point of departure, this story breaks with the traditional xianxia genre’s single-track transmigration logic and brings philosophical reflections on “reality, illusion, and truth” into its cultivation system. It builds a closed narrative loop of “three lives,” exploring the conflict between existentialism and fatalism through the protagonist Hong Yu’s deconstruction and reconstruction of himself. Finally, it brings the story to a close with a cosmology in which “the real and the unreal coexist,” culminating in the subversive conclusion of “a mortal slaying dreams, and dreams creating the world.”
