The Legend of Yun Fei's Immortal Dream tells the story of Li Yunfei, a young man from Qingyun Town, and his journey to immortality. Kind-hearted but timid and cowardly by nature, Li Yunfei is often bullied by local tyrants. One day, while gathering firewood in the mountains, he rescues an injured spirit fox and receives a spirit pearl in return. In a dream, an immortal tells him that he is destined to save all living beings. From then on, he embarks on the path of cultivation.
After enduring many hardships, he joins the Xianling Sect. Though the spirit pearl and his determination earn him a place among the outer disciples, his fellow sect members look down on him. He trains tirelessly, with help from his senior sister, Lin Yurou. At the sect tournament, he fights his way through the ranks, narrowly defeats his senior brother Zhao Tianming to reach the finals, then surpasses himself and defeats Murong Xue to claim the championship.
Impressed by his performance, the sect leader sends him and Lin Yurou, along with others, to an ancient ruin in search of the lost magical treasure, the Qiankun Mirror. They face countless dangers inside the ruin. After defeating a flame lion, they find the treasure, only to be confronted by evil cultivators intent on stealing it. In the end, Li Yunfei and his companions work closely together, using the power of the spirit pearl and the Qiankun Mirror to drive off their enemies and protect the treasure. They return to the sect in triumph.
