Oath at Daybreak

When noble duels descend into farce and a sixty-person brawl tears through the ruins of a monastery, a group of poor students are forcibly recruited by the Inquisition of the Church.

Reinhardt, a black-haired, black-eyed boy, was an ordinary swordsman at Saint-Michel Academy until an accident pulled him into a vortex of the undead, the Church, and royal power. A lich's secrets from three hundred years ago emerge in underground catacombs, a noble scandal rocks Paris, the “Treasure of Paris,” imprisoned for twenty-five years, sees the light of day, and the shadow of an orc shaman quietly spreads.

On one side stands a decayed and arrogant aristocracy; on the other, the ambitious forces of the Church. Meanwhile, an undead army stirs beneath the earth.

Wearing the Church's armor and wielding swords and faith, the young men grow stronger through duels, trials, and battles in subterranean tombs. From reluctant interns forced to do the dirty work to heroes who hold up the dawn, they tear open the curtain on a dark age with their youth and passion.

When holy light illuminates the depths of a tomb, and a young sword points toward destiny:

This is no game for nobles. It is the heroic dawn of the boys of Promis.

A true hero is never a puppet of faith, but a pioneer of the dawn!

A young man's ideals shatter amid conspiracies and war;

Brilliant holy light conceals the darkest schemes;

Only scarlet blood can nourish a hero's song.

As the long night draws to a close, he will cleave the darkness with his own hands and raise a new dawn.
