A Warm Letter

In her second year of high school, Xu Zhinan arrives in Yunhai City, never expecting to run into Lin Yi, the person who had filled her entire middle school life.

Back then, ashamed of her background, she hadn’t dared to reach for the dazzling light of that boy.

He was a priceless painting by a renowned artist of the last century, while she was nothing but a cheap fake sold by a street peddler, unrefined and unworthy of being displayed.

Their fateful reunion silently reminds her: this time, don’t leave anything to regret.

On New Year’s Eve when she was sixteen, the brilliant fireworks in the sky were painkillers he gave her. In the depths of winter, they were especially dazzling and warm, just like the temperature of the boy’s palm, a ray of sunshine breaking through the clouds in a rainy land.

Lin Yi once told her, “The person who loves you more will come in the future.”

And that person was none other than himself.

Six years later, when they meet again,

the ring on his left middle finger matches the pendant on her necklace.

The boy once said that when they were together, she could wear the ring from her necklace on her finger.

She waited six years for that day, and the confession that should have come when they were eighteen was six years late.
