Without warning, Earth was hit by the terrifying Black Tide virus. It spread at incredible speed and was highly contagious, bringing the entire world to a standstill in a short time. Zombies roamed the cities. They moved slowly, but their attacks were devastating. Anyone bitten quickly became infected and turned into one of them. Resources were desperately scarce, and survivors might come to blows over a bite of food or a bottle of water. Different survivor factions struggled to stay alive among the ruins, clashing constantly as human civilization teetered on the brink.
