Watching familiar characters act out a story he has seen before, he resolves to change their fates. Armed with his knowledge of the plot and the advantages of his space, he finds a foothold in an era of scarce supplies. But the road ahead is far from smooth. His memories of his previous life give him an advantage, but may also draw unknown dangers. Can Chen Xiangyang break free of the world's predetermined course and write his own legend? And what unexpected ripples will his presence create among the courtyard's neighbors?
