This epic blends history, science fiction, and mystery. It follows Lu Zhaoming, a Palace Museum relic restorer, and Jiang Chu, an agent with the Bureau, as they uncover the truth behind a series of mysterious events where ancient mythology and modern technology intertwine.

The story begins when Lu Zhaoming accidentally activates the AI of the Queen Mother of the West, embedded in a Warring States bronze mirror. He discovers he has been swept into a crisis spanning time and space. Meanwhile, while investigating the Sanxingdui incident, Jiang Chu discovers that the Spirit Bearers are being manipulated by a mysterious force. As the two delve deeper, they gradually uncover the truth behind the Investiture of the Gods: it is no legend, but an ancient program hidden in human genes.

From the Palace Museum’s storerooms to Antarctic glaciers, from quantum computers to the virtual secret realm of Kunlun, Lu Zhaoming and Jiang Chu continue exploring the boundary between myth and reality as they evade pursuit by the mysterious organization Guixu. They discover that hidden behind every myth is an “antivirus program” left by an ancient civilization, while humanity’s fate is locked within an ancient star chart called the “Luo Shu.”

In the final battle, the two are faced with the chance to reboot civilization and must make a difficult choice: preserve the ancient genetic lock program or create an entirely new future? Lu Zhaoming uses a fragment of the bronze sacred tree to write a new covenant between humans and gods, while Jiang Chu becomes a living repository of memories connecting the old and new universes.
