At twenty-four, he joined NERV.
At twenty-nine, he received orders from Gendo Ikari to teach the young pilot, Shinji Ikari.
In this world, which could only be called apocalyptic, everyone lived just to stay alive.
The last embers of civilization were entrusted to the hands of boys and girls. They piloted the humanoid weapons known as EVA to face the Angels of God.
People don’t kill themselves because they want to die, but because they don’t know why they should live.
Boys will never understand adults, just as adults will never understand boys.
No matter where he went, he always faced a world this despairing.
And yet Dazai Osamu suddenly realized this was the world he wanted most.
Because he remembered the last words of an old friend:
“I want to be on the side that saves people.”
